Camping Weekend

During the summer the church sets off with tents and caravans to a camp site for the weekend. For the last two years we have been going to Charlbury, a very friendly site in the Cotswolds. Generally we book around 15 pitches for approximately 60 people. It is a wonderful time spent relaxing together – sharing meals, playing games, walking, etc. The site also offers cottages and Bed & Breakfast accommodation for non-campers. It is an occasion suited to everyone.

On the Saturday evening there is a BBQ, often followed by a singing session. A short morning service is held on the Sunday.

GFEC camping weekend offers a time of great fellowship and fun.

Anthony Robert Dyer

A tribute to Tony an elder at GFEC...

In memory of Frank Cross

Having pastored 2 large churches in Manchester and Hull, Frank became our Pastor in March 1990. He had a real love for God and a genuine concern for other people. During his five years with us, we greatly benefited from his pastoral gifting and the way in which he opened up the Bible in such an authoritative way.

After retirement, Frank was not a man to sit around. In particular, he was a great help to Wantage Baptist Church during their interregnum.

He battled with cancer for several months, but even in his frailty, he was able to share his deep faith with others. He touched many lives and was truly a man of God who made a difference.
