Holy Week

This week is Holy Week. So as well as a special Easter Sunday celebration next Sunday there is more going on:

  • Friday 10am communion service for Good Friday
  • Friday 11am joint service on the green opposite the Methodist Church
  • Friday 8pm Cross in the Square takes place in Wantage town square

It's also the first week of the month, so no home groups - but a whole church prayer meeting at Cornerstone on Wednesday 4 April at 8pm.

Thanks - HopeUnlimited

Thank you for taking your bundles of Hope Unlimited. It contains details of GFEC's Easter services, so the sooner they can be delivered the better. If you have any difficulties with the deliveries 'on your patch' please contact Lesley Baker when she returns from holiday. If possible can you please return the labels and elastic bands and place them in the blue ice cream tub at the back of church (or pass on to Lesley) – many thanks.

Shoebox appeal 2012

The Shoebox Appeal 2012 is already gathering pace – after such a successful result last year we have a high standard to achieve (and hopefully surpass) so we are starting earlier. We know several folk are already gathering items from the "essentials" list (which is available on the Shoebox Appeal 2012 page of our website) and finding out where the bargains are! If you would rather give a financial donation than go shopping, please put your gift in the Sunday offering, in an envelope marked "Shoebox" – or give it to one of the deacons.

Oh yes –Shoebox Packing Day will again be held at Old Mill Hall on Sunday 21st October. Please make a note in your diary – Don't miss it!

John & Margaret
