Shoe Box Sunday

Sunday 16 October

What are you hoping to find wrapped up under the tree on Christmas morning? A games console or iPad or mobile phone or maybe all of them? Would that bring a smile to your face?

But what if all you found was some toothpaste or soap perhaps? Or maybe a notebook and a pencil? What about a packet of sweets? Or a woolly hat? Would that bring a smile to your face?

It would to many Eastern Europeans in Romania, Moldova, Albania and Ukraine who endure levels of poverty which have not been seen in this country since the 1920's. So be part of our Shoe Box Appeal and help us send shoe boxes full of smiles to families in desperate need in Eastern Europe.

Mad Hatters of GFEC

Our Mad Hatters' Tea PartyDespite provided great fun and raised over £400 for Viva to help provide Christmas parties for children across the world.

The less said about James' outfit the better - the pictures speak for themselves! Well done to everyone who made the effort.

News from the Bernals Dec 2010

Highly regarded family in Jesus Christ,

The one true God in whom we believe and follow in our daily lives, is faithful, provider, comforter and also tests that which he teaches us, with the result that we mature in His Faith.

Our journey to Florida finds us in a new county, West Palm Beach, in a city named Lake Worth, where many Latinos and Caribbean people live.  We have been living for 2 months alone in a one-room apartment which we value greatly, because we have had 12 months of living in different houses with brothers in the faith.
