Connect with GFEC

We want to make it easy to connect with God and with us whether or not gathering on a Sunday every week fits your lifestyle. So we are trying to make it as easy as we can for those for whom email, the web and social networking is the best way to keep in touch. We recognise that it's not just about giving you information but helping you to share it and to join in the conversation about God with us and with others.
Website
Our website www.gfec.org.uk is the formal on-line presence of Grove Free Evangelical Church. Here you'll find information about our beliefs and affiliations and about activities within our fellowship, in the community, and further afield. You'll find a diary of regular and special events coming up. Recordings of sermons are posted here a few days after our meetings. Our monthly What's On is available to read or print and we post updates during the month and you can subscribe if you want ot receive the updates by email weekly. If you look around you'll find photos and videos of some of the things we've gotten up to over the years.
The current incarnation of the website was designed for use on PC or Mac with a keyboard, mouse, and a screen with a resolution of 1024x768 or larger. However we haven't missed the exponential rise of the iPad and other tablet devices over the last 18 months. We're working on a new layout that's more tablet friendly and making sure all our videos work without Flash. So stick with us.
If you use Facebook already you'll know how convenient it is to have news from every part of your life come together in one place. So we have a page on Facebook so we can be part of your social network too. You can find it by searching on Facebook for "free jellies" or just click here. We post news, reminders about events, and links to things we find of interest. And yes, you are welcome to share and comment on the things we post.
For those on the go, who just need the headline, Twitter can be invaluable. So we tweet most of the things we post on Facebook - when it makes sense. If you want to follow us search Twitter for "freejellies" or simply click here.
Google+
Yes, we are there too. Not totally sure how to make the best of it but we'll see in the next couple of months! If you want to join the fun search Google+ for "free jellies" or click the link.
Why the jellies?
It would be true to say the name was chosen because others had already grabbed GFEC in the social networking space. But unhelpful.
The real answer is that we've been known colloquially by other Christians in the Grove area as the "Free Jellies" or "Free Jellicals" for a long time. I think it's meant in good humour. But either way; if you can't beat them, join them.
