Church

As our name suggests, we're a church, we meet in Grove, we're evangelical, and we're independent. We're also very friendly!

We have been meeting together as a Church since 1980. In that time we've grown in number as well as spiritually, so that we now have 60+ Church members and around 90 adults and children worship regularly at our Sunday morning services. After meeting for several years in the Grove village hall,  we now meet for worship in the local C of E Primary School every Sunday morning and evening.

There's plenty going on in the week too, as you'll see from our calendar. Without the benefit of a building of our own, most of these activities are in small groups in homes in Grove and beyond. Meeting in smaller groups provides excellent opportunities for fellowship, studying the Bible, and prayer. And with several small groups there's one that's right for you: young or old, practical or intellectual, introvert or extrovert, and whether you are a committed Christian or just looking.

These ministries include:

Home Groups

Coffee Plus

Youth Group

Funday Club for families with young children

Prayer Group

It's not all about us though:

  • We partner together with other Churches in Grove to serve our community by running the Cornerstone Christian Centre: a coffee shop and Christian book shop in the heart of Grove.
  • We are partners, along with other Wantage and Grove Churches, in Wantage and Grove Street Pastors.
  • Along with other churches in Grove and Wantage we support the local Food Bank which provides much needed food for household at times of crisis.

And we look beyond our local community too, supporting several Christians in mission and other overseas work financially and through prayer and encouragement.

  • An active Youth Group meeting on Sundays and midweek
  • Sunday Club for younger children
  • Coffee Morning
  • Men’s Group
  • Mid-week Small groups
  • Prayer Groups
  • Fellowship meals and activities
  • Supporting several Christian workers overseas

We are members of the FIEC - Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and Evangelical Alliance (EA).
